We are an Open and Affirming congregation, striving to welcome all persons- regardless of race, ethnic background, economic status, gender, age, personal ability, or sexual orientation- into the full life and ministry of the church.

On July 4th, 2005 the UCC General Synod in Atlanta overwhelmingly passed the Equal Marriage Rights for All resolution, making the UCC the first mainline Christian denomination in the U.S. to affirm full civil and religious marriage equality for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons. Rev. Briget spearheaded a press conference to protect domestic partnerships on May 17, 2005, where diverse clergy members faced the media with a compassionate, faith based response to the anti-unmarried , anti-LGBT amendment on the November 2006 ballot.
