POZ Cafe
What a huge success we had, co-sponsoring and learning the ropes of Poz Café with Casas Adobes UCC! A monthly restaurant-style event, Poz Café is organized by Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network and supported by different faith communities once a month. At the Poz Café, people living with HIV/AIDS and their guests are served a fantastic and nutritious lunch prepared by volunteers, many of whom were from First UCC: Cindy Wallace, Barbara Eiswerth, Neil Orlowski, Christy Bridwell, Bill Collins, Rev. Briget and Cathy Hammer. Tables were set for over 100 people. Everyone socialized, enjoyed a meal (including fabulous desserts donated by Starbucks!), played Bingo, and anticipated winning one of the great raffle prizes. In the Market Place, guests accepted donations - many from people at First UCC - of paper products, gifts, toiletries, and more!
